Rules - The Resistance: Avalon
The Resistance: Avalon is a game of hidden roles and social deduction for 5-10 players, lasting approximately 30 minutes. Participants are secretly divided into two factions: the Loyal Servants of Arthur (Good) and the Minions of Mordred (Evil). Evil players know each other, while Good players, with the exception of Merlin, do not know who the traitors are. Merlin is the only one who knows the identity of the Evil servants, but must guide his allies without revealing his own identity, or face defeat.
The game unfolds through a series of quests (usually five). In each round, a Leader proposes a team of players to undertake a quest. All players vote to approve or reject the proposed team. If the team is approved, the players chosen for the quest secretly receive two cards: "Success" and "Fail". Good players must play "Success", while Evil players can choose to play "Success" or "Fail". If even a single "Fail" card is played (or the required number for that quest), the quest fails.
The Loyal Servants of Arthur win the game if three of the five quests are successfully completed. The Minions of Mordred win if three quests fail. Furthermore, if Good manages to complete three quests, Evil has one last chance: they must attempt to correctly guess who Merlin is. If they guess correctly, Evil wins the game, making Merlin's role crucial but extremely vulnerable.
