Nucleum is a complex euro board game set in 19th-century Saxony, where the invention of Nucleum has ushered in a new industrial era. Players take on the role of industrialists competing to lead this technological and economic revolution. The main objective is to accumulate Victory Points (VP) by the end of the game, proving to be the most successful pioneer.

The game unfolds in continuous turns, without predefined phases or rounds, where players perform actions one after another. The main ways to score points include:

Developing railway and power line networks across the board.
Building and powering urban buildings to meet the growing energy demand.
Stipulating and completing contracts to supply resources or services.
Reaching "milestones," which are random end-game objectives offering additional VP.
