Game Description
The mythical kingdom of Hyperborea, once flourishing, was ruled by an ancient civilization that harnessed the power of magic crystals as its primary energy source. The greed of the Hyperboreans drove them to dig ever deeper in search of power, rendering the crystals unstable and unleashing cataclysms: earthquakes, mutations, droughts, and floods. Only a few wise mages, foreseeing the inevitable destruction, erected an impenetrable magic barrier. The uncontrolled energy unleashed from the depths annihilated the Hyperborean civilization in a single day, and only the barrier saved life on the entire earth. The survivors, isolated in the outer outposts, found themselves sealed off. The knowledge of the crystals was declared forbidden, perhaps too dangerous or simply forgotten.
Over the centuries, from the ashes of the Hyperborean civilization, six rival kingdoms emerged, each with its own identity and ambition. There was the militaristic Red Duchy, the Emerald Kingdom with its lethal archers, the Purple Matriarchy devoutly tied to the goddess of life, the Golden Barony of skilled diplomats and merchants, the Coral Throne with its efficient society, and finally, the solitary and enigmatic Celestial Kingdom. A fragile and precarious peace reigned among these factions, destined not to last.
One day, the magic barrier unexpectedly collapsed, revealing an unexplored and mysterious land, still populated by the harmless but unsettling ghosts of the ancient Hyperboreans. A world rich in ruins to discover and cities to explore opened before the six kingdoms. Each faction now sends its best warriors and explorers to Hyperborea to assert its dominion. Will brute force prevail or a deep understanding of science? The discovery of precious artifacts or the reconquest of lost cities? Only you, as the leader of one of these factions, can guide your people to ultimate supremacy over this legendary land.
Prepare for an epic adventure in Hyperborea, a strategic board game that immerses you in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world.
