The heart of Harmonies' gameplay lies in an intuitive yet profound game flow. In turn, each player selects a set of three terrain tiles from the central area to place on their personal board. You can also choose one of the five available Animal cards and strategically place animal cubes on completed patterns that match your cards. With a limit of four cards per player, every choice becomes crucial for developing your placement strategy and creating the most flourishing habitats.

The key to victory in Harmonies is intelligent planning and optimization of the final score. Terrain tiles, such as mountains, fields, and forests, have specific scoring rules: for example, mountains gain points based on height and adjacency, encouraging unique strategic combinations. When there are no more tiles in the bag or a player has few empty spaces on their board, the game ends. The player with the highest score claims victory. For an even richer experience, Nature Spirit cards introduce continuous effects and an additional layer of depth.

Rules

"Harmonies" is a board game for 1-4 players where the objective is to build landscapes and create habitats for animals. Each player aims to earn the most points by strategically placing colored terrain tiles and populating them with animals. The game proceeds in turns, following these main phases:

Choose 3 terrain tiles from the central area and place them on your player board.
Optionally, choose an Animal card from those available (up to 4 in hand).
Optionally, place Animal cubes from your cards onto completed patterns on the board that match the cards' objectives.

The arrangement of terrain tiles is crucial for satisfying Animal card objectives and specific scoring rules for each terrain type (e.g., mountains with height and contiguity). If all cubes from an Animal card are placed, the card is set aside, and a new one can be drawn. Animal cards are scored at the end of the game based on the highest number not covered by a cube.

The game ends when there are no more tiles to replenish or a player has 2 or fewer empty spaces on their board. Play continues until all players have had an equal number of turns, and the player with the highest score wins. Optional Spirit of Nature cards offer continuous effects and count towards the hand limit.
