Star Wars: X-Wing (Second Edition) is a 2-player tactical space combat board game where you command a squadron of advanced starfighters. The objective is to destroy all opposing ships through strategic maneuvers and targeted attacks. A game lasts approximately 45 minutes and focuses on the visceral thrill of piloting iconic ships in the Star Wars galaxy.
The heart of the game revolves around secret planning and execution of maneuvers. Each ship possesses its own set of unique maneuvers, from gentle turns to aggressive Koiogran turns. A game round is structured into main phases:
- Players secretly select a maneuver for each of their ships using a dial.
- Maneuvers are revealed and ships are moved on the board, starting with pilots of lower skill.
- After completing a maneuver, ships can perform an action to gain tactical advantages.
