"Mindbug: First Contact" is a dynamic tactical card game for two players, with fast-paced matches lasting approximately 25 minutes. The main objective is to reduce the opponent's life points to zero. Players challenge each other by summoning powerful hybrid creatures, each endowed with unique abilities, to send them into battle. The game's distinctive mechanic, which makes it unique, is the opponent's ability to "steal" a newly played creature, transforming every move into a deep tactical dilemma.
At the start of the game, each player receives ten creature cards (five in hand and five in their draw pile) and two Mindbug cards. During their turn, a player can play a creature from hand without resource costs. However, when a creature is played, the opponent has the opportunity to use one of their Mindbug cards to immediately take control of it, adding it to their own lineup. This decision is crucial and forces players to carefully evaluate the right moment to play their most powerful cards.
The game does not require resources to play cards, eliminating accumulation phases and allowing immediate action. With no deck-building phase and drawing from a common deck, the experience is purely focused on strategic decisions made with the available creatures.
