Imagine a world on the brink of collapse, where multiple virulent diseases threaten humanity. In Pandemic, the acclaimed cooperative board game published by Z-Man Games in 2008, you and your team of specialists are humanity's last hope. Your mission is clear: contain infection outbreaks and develop cures for four terrible plagues before the world descends into chaos. Prepare for a gripping challenge that will keep 2 to 4 players on the edge of their seats for approximately 45 minutes of intense strategy.
The Pandemic board will transport you to major global metropolises, true epicenters of contagion. Each turn, you will have up to four actions available to move between cities, treat infected populations, build vital research stations, or attempt to discover a cure. A deck of cards will provide you with these valuable abilities, but beware: Epidemic! cards are scattered within it and will drastically accelerate the spread of diseases, making every decision crucial. A second, separate deck manages the incessant propagation of infections, maintaining high tension and the need for impeccable resource management.
The key to victory in Pandemic lies in collaboration and leveraging the unique roles of each specialist. Each character, from the Scientist to the Operations Expert, possesses specific abilities that must be integrated into a winning team strategy. For example, the Scientist needs fewer cards to find a cure, while the Operations Expert is crucial for mobility and building critical infrastructure. Time is running out and diseases spread quickly: if one or more plagues become uncontrollable or the available time runs out, the game is lost for everyone. Only by curing all four diseases can you declare victory and save humanity in this epic strategic board game, the first chapter of a series that redefined the genre.

Rules - Pandemic
Pandemic is a cooperative game for 2-4 players, in which the goal is to save the world from four virulent diseases that are spreading simultaneously. Players take on the role of disease-fighting specialists, working together to treat outbreaks and research cures before the situation becomes irrecoverable. The game board represents the world's major cities, and humanity's success or failure depends on the team's common strategy.
Each turn, a player can perform up to four actions to counteract the spread of diseases. The main actions include:
- Move between cities.
- Treat infected populations (remove disease cubes).
- Build a research station, essential for finding cures and for greater mobility on the map.
- Discover a cure for one of the diseases (requires discarding a certain number of cards of the same color at a research station).
The game uses two main card decks: a Player deck, which provides action cards and contains the dreaded Epidemic! cards that accelerate the spread and intensity of diseases, and an Infection deck, which determines the normal spread of viruses each turn. Players win by curing all four diseases. They lose if diseases spread beyond containment (too many outbreaks), if the cubes of a disease run out, or if the Player deck runs out before all cures have been found. Collaboration and strategic planning are fundamental for victory.
