Bureau of Investigation: Investigations in Arkham & Elsewhere is a cooperative board game for 1-8 players, set in the 1920s United States. Participants take on the role of agents of the Bureau of Investigation, tasked with investigating mysterious paranormal cases inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The main objective is to solve a series of five new and strange investigations, unveiling the otherworldly threats lurking behind the veil of reality, exploring locations such as Boston, Arkham, and exotic lands.
The game is based on the renowned Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective system, while introducing new mechanics and plot twists. At the beginning of each case, players receive an introduction to the story. From there, gameplay revolves around consulting a case file and, presumably, a list of locations and characters (such as a directory or period newspapers).
