Brook City is a cooperative miniatures board game for 1-4 players, immersing them in a police action movie atmosphere. Players take on the role of heroic Brook City police officers, with the objective of cleaning up the streets from a mysterious criminal organization known as "The Syndicate". A game lasts approximately 120 minutes and challenges players to coordinate to tackle both criminals and intricate cases.
The game takes place on a large board representing the streets of Brook City. Each police officer has a unique card deck that defines their abilities and actions. Gameplay is card-driven and aims to counter the "criminal deck" and solve the "case deck". During their turn, players must:
- Move their agents through the city, on foot or by vehicles.
- Engage and defeat criminals using custom dice.
- Collect clues to advance and solve the current case.
The objective is to dismantle criminal operations and, simultaneously, solve the case.
The game system uses the "Modular Deck System (MDS)", which allows for quick setup and a customizable gaming experience. This card-based system allows players to mix and match different police, criminal, and case decks, creating always unique encounters and ensuring high replayability.
