Immerse yourself in High Medieval France with The Castles of Burgundy, an acclaimed strategic board game that transports you to the rich lands of Burgundy. You will take on the role of a noble aristocrat, tasked with transforming a small fiefdom into a prosperous medieval principality. Your objective is to expand your domain by building settlements and impressive castles, developing trade routes along the river, exploiting valuable silver mines, and assimilating the knowledge of wise travelers. The heart of the game lies in its ingenious system of tile placement and dice management. Each turn, players will use their dice to strategically select and place settlement tiles from the main board into their personal principality. Each tile, once placed, activates a unique function, contributing to the expansion and development of your realm. Your principality is divided into different regions, each requiring specific types of tiles, adding a layer of complexity and planning to your strategic development. Worker abilities will also allow you to manipulate dice results, offering greater control over your fate.

Structured into five phases, each consisting of five rounds, The Castles of Burgundy offers a variety of tactical decisions at every step. During each round, you can perform two of the four available actions: acquire settlement tiles, place them in your principality, deliver goods, or recruit workers. Every choice matters, directly influencing your path to victory. At the end of the fifth phase, victory points are calculated based on various factors, including goods delivered, unused coins and workers, and special bonuses from settlement tiles. The player with the highest score claims victory. With basic and advanced rule versions, the game ensures exceptional game depth and replayability, challenging both newcomers and experienced strategists alike.
