In Dune: A Game of Conquest and Diplomacy, you will take control of one of four great factions – House Atreides, House Harkonnen, the Fremen, and the Imperium – all vying for control of the universe's most precious resource: melange, the mysterious Spice found only at great cost on the planet Arrakis. Your mission will be to dispatch forces to Dune, gather Spice, conquer enemy strongholds, and annihilate your opponents. Every move is crucial in this area control game where diplomacy and conquest intertwine. Who will succeed in dominating Dune?
Prepare for an intense gaming experience, ideal for 2-4 players with a duration of approximately 60 minutes. The game unfolds through several strategic phases: from the Spice phase, where new reserves appear or a Sandworm attack is unleashed, to the Cards phase, where you can draw Battle cards and purchase Market cards to enhance your strategy. The Shipping and Movement phase allows you to deploy and move your forces on the board, leading to epic clashes. The game takes place over 3-5 rounds, and victory can be claimed by occupying 3 strongholds starting from the third round, or, if no one achieves this objective by the end of the fifth round, the player with the largest amount of Spice will claim triumph, with each occupied stronghold conferring a significant bonus.

Dune: A Game of Conquest and Diplomacy is a board game for 2-4 players that allows players to immerse themselves in the iconic universe of Dune, with games lasting approximately 60 minutes. Each player takes control of one of four great factions – House Atreides, House Harkonnen, Fremen, or Imperium – all competing for control of the melange, the precious spice found only on Arrakis. The objective is to deploy forces to the planet, collect spice, conquer strongholds, and defeat opponents, in a version that modernizes the classic with streamlined rules and a new card market.
The game unfolds over 3-5 rounds, each consisting of several phases. Some phases do not involve direct player actions, such as the Spice Phase, where a Spice Blow card is drawn, adding spice to two territories or, alternatively, unleashing a sand worm. Phases that actively involve players include:
- Card Phase: Players draw up to 4 Battle cards and have the opportunity to purchase Market cards (up to 3) at a cost of 2 spice each.
- Deployment and Movement Phase: In turn, players deploy their forces onto the board and then move them to control territories and engage in combat.
Victory can be achieved in several ways. Starting from the end of the third round, the game ends immediately if a player occupies 3 strongholds. If no one reaches this condition by the end of the fifth round, the player with the most spice wins; in this case, each occupied stronghold counts as 5 additional spice for the final tally.
