At the beginning of the 16th century, King Manuel I of Portugal commissioned his greatest artisans to erect majestic buildings. After completing the Palaces of Evora and Sintra, the monarch desired a magnificent summer pavilion in honor of the most distinguished members of the royal family. An ambitious project, intended only for the most talented masters, whose skills could match royal splendor. Unfortunately, King Manuel I died before construction could begin. Now, in Azul: Summer Pavilion, you will have the opportunity to resume this unfinished task, bringing a king's vision to life and honoring the tradition of Portugal.

In Azul: Summer Pavilion, players return to Portugal to complete the king's vision. As a master artisan, you must use the finest materials – the famous colorful tiles – to build the summer pavilion, carefully avoiding waste and planning every move. Only the best will distinguish themselves in this challenge, honoring the Portuguese royal family with their mastery and their keen strategy.

The game unfolds over six exciting rounds. In each round, players strategically select and take colorful tiles from designated factories or from the center of the table, then place them on their individual player board. Each tile color acts as a "wildcard" in a specific round, adding an additional layer of depth to the planning. The goal is to complete seven stars on your pavilion, each requiring specific tile combinations, to accumulate victory points and demonstrate your artistic superiority.

Rules - Azul: Summer Pavilion

In "Azul: Summer Pavilion", players take on the role of skilled artisans tasked with constructing King Manuel I's summer pavilion. The game unfolds over six rounds, and in each round a different tile color acts as a wildcard, offering strategic flexibility. The main objective is to collect colored tiles and strategically place them on your personal board to score the most victory points.

Each round begins by replenishing the factories and central spaces of the table with four new tiles drawn randomly from the bag. Players, in turn, perform one of the following tile-drafting actions:

Take all tiles of a non-wildcard color from one of the factories. If present, you must also take one wildcard tile from that same factory. The remaining tiles from the factory are moved to the center of the table.
Take all tiles of a non-wildcard color from the center of the table. If present, you must also take one wildcard tile from the center.

The tiles thus drafted are temporarily placed next to your player board, awaiting the next phase.

Once all tiles have been drafted from the table, players proceed to place them on their personal board. Each board depicts seven stars, each composed of six spaces numbered 1 to 6. Six of these stars are dedicated to tiles of a single color, while the seventh requires one tile of each color. To place a tile on a specific space (e.g., a "blue 5" space), the player must spend a number of tiles of the required color or wildcard tiles equal to the number indicated on the space. Careful tile placement is crucial for maximizing scores and minimizing material waste.
